WMPO Ribbon Cutting & Open House

We’re home!

Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) is excited to celebrate the opening of our new office and welcome others to join!

Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2024
Time: 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Location: WMPO Office – 525 N. Fourth Street, Wilmington

Open to the public, this event will kickoff with remarks from our Executive Director, Mike Kozlosky, preceded by industry and local leaders: Trevor Carroll from NCDOT, City of Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, and the WMPO Board Chairman and Mayor of Wrightsville Beach, Hank Miller. After the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, the offices will be open for the community to tour, with guidance from WMPO staff. Light refreshments will be served.

Public Comment Opportunity: STIP/MPO Amendment #26-4

The WMPO desires to modify the adopted 2026-2035 State/MPO Transportation Improvement Programs for Administrative Modification #26-4.

Review the document here. A printed copy of the document can also be viewed at the WMPO office, located at 525 N. Fourth Street in downtown Wilmington.

An important part of this process is providing the public with an opportunity to comment. The public comment period will be open from June 24, 2026, until 5 p.m. on July 24, 2026.

WMPO Board Adopts 2026-2031 Strategic Plan

The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) Board has officially adopted the 2026-2031 Strategic Plan, establishing a roadmap that will guide the organization’s priorities and initiatives over the next five years.

Developed through collaboration with Board members and staff, the plan outlines the WMPO’s vision, goals, and strategic focus areas that will shape transportation planning, regional partnerships, organizational excellence, and community engagement through 2031.

The Strategic Plan serves as a framework for decision-making and helps ensure the WMPO remains responsive to the region’s evolving transportation needs and future opportunities.

Community members, partners, and stakeholders are encouraged to review the adopted plan to learn more about the WMPO’s strategic direction for the years ahead.
