The 32nd Annual River to Sea Bike Ride will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022. River to Sea is a 20-mile bike ride along the historic route of the Wilmington Sea Coast Railroad from downtown Wilmington to Wrightsville Beach and back. Riders of all ages and experience levels may participate – this casual-paced ride is guided by members of Cape Fear Cyclists and escorted by local law enforcement.
During check-in the morning of the event, North Front Street between Market Street and Princess Street, and Princess Street between Second Street and Front Street will be closed to vehicles to allow participants to check-in and gather at the starting point of the ride. Check-in begins at 6:30 AM.
Cyclists will depart at 7:00 AM from the intersection of Front Street and Market Street and arrive at Wrightsville Beach Park around 8:15 AM. There is a scheduled 15-20 minute break at the Park. Riders are expected to return to the starting point by 10:00 AM. No roads or lanes along the route will close during the ride, but police will stop traffic at several intersections along the way.
Registration for this free event is open until 1pm on Friday, May 6th or until the number of online registrants reaches 450. Interested participants unable to register online can register day-of but there will be a $5 fee.
