The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is proposing a 1.7-mile extension of Independence Boulevard in Wilmington to improve mobility and reduce traffic congestion through central Wilmington.

NCDOT will host an Open House and Public Hearing to share project details and gather feedback from the community.

Public Meeting Details:
Date: Monday, December 1, 2025
Open House: 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Public Hearing: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington Cafeteria | 4100 Sunglow Drive, Wilmington
