The Public Participation Plan (PPP) outlines how the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) engages with the community and ensures opportunities for public input throughout the transportation planning process. It serves as a guide for fair, transparent, and effective public involvement in accordance with federal transportation planning requirements.

We invite residents, stakeholders, and community partners to review the Draft PPP and provide feedback to help shape how the WMPO connects with and serves the public.

Review the Draft PPP here, along with our current and previously adopted Public Participation Plan. A printed copy of the document can also be viewed at the WMPO office located at 545 N. 4th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.

An important part of this process is providing the public with an opportunity to comment. The public comment period will be open from March 25, 2026, until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.
